Beachbuoy The Joe VanDerBos Type Collection announces the release of Beachbuoy, a sans-serif casual typeface in 3 weights.
About the typeface: Beachbuoy floats on the foamy surface of fun, rising & falling with the waves. Lower case characters take a siesta when it comes to the baseline, an oasis away from mainland rules. Tropical and relaxed with an island attitude, Beachbuoy is a unicase font with a full character set including Euro symbol. Joe VanDerBos says: "Beachbuoy was inspired by the relaxed pace of Kauai, local sign painting, and paper umbrellas in sunset-colored cocktails. It took a long and winding route from inspiration to end result, but was worth every step. I set out to make a Dom Casual for the 21st Century, and ended up with something else entirely." About the type designer: Joe VanDerBos' typefaces develop from a love of quirkiness and affection for pre-Beatles squareness. They're inspired by a passion for mid-20th century forms and optimism.
